At Rite Aid, starting Sunday 1/1/12 you can purchase a Prepaid Vanilla Visa card as a part of the Buy & Save Promotion. The Buy & Save Promotion gives you a $20 +UP reward when you spend $100 in qualifying products.
Here is the deal:
Buy (1) Prepaid Vanilla Visa Card @ $100.00
- Pay = $100 + $4.95 activation fee
- Earn $20 +up reward from Resolution Rewards
- Final price = $15.05 money maker after +up reward, including the use of the prepaid visa!
Thanks Charla!

Awesome, thanks!
Is there a limit on the number of +UP deals you can do on the buy and save?
There is a limit of 1 per household (per card)
the activation fee is actually $5.95 on the $100 card.
i have to buy these all of the time to get textbooks online, i just got one last week but i think ill get another, just to get a little money back from having to pay that rediculas activation fee all of the time
Maybe the fee varies per location – I will double check.
Extra bonus = 105 points right off the bat – EXCELLENT way to start the New Year
Didn’t work for me. Manager said that only the activation fee counts towards the $100.
It worked for me this morning, I got the Black Vanilla Visa card.
Ok I have an update, you have to buy the ones featured in the picture. They are all the way on the bottom of the racks and yes it is $5.95 fee. The ones at top for 4.95 are called Vanilla so you should be able to call customer service on Monday and they will send you your +UP.
My friend and I bought one today and it worked like a charm!
I will post on FB too.
I got the Black $100 card today with no problems
I made sure to get the Vanilla Visa, but it was the silver card and I had to tell the clerk how much to load on it. I spoke with the manager and he told me that I could return it and get the $100 and act-fee refunded. Guess I should do that, and then purchase the black Vanilla card. May be easier than calling customer service.
i got my card this morning too! no problems and then went to price chopper and used it! what a great deal!thanks for sharing!!
There is a sign up here in Watertown (an email from corporate) that states this was a mistake in the ad printed and that these Visa cards are not included in the save and buy, bummer.
Ditto in Massachusetts
I just left my rite aid in fairmount and after getting the black vanilla card without the up rewards printing they received a letter saying that there was a mistake and the cards are not part of the resolution rewards. They gave me a $20 gift card in place of the up rewards since I had already bought it.
my store had a sign saying it was a mistake in the ad and not part of the deal
