Introducing your Rite Aid and Walgreens expert!

January
2nd

I shared in my previous New Years Resolution Post that I had acquired some help from readers and family to continue with the work on ‘I am THAT lady’.  The first person I want to introduce to you is the person who has been working behind the scenes for over two months, providing you all with THE BEST Rite Aid and Walgreens scenarios.

It may not be a surprise to you because she is normally commenting on these scenarios on the website and also on the Facebook Page.  She totally deserves the credit, so let me tell you a little bit about Charla Roth – who is the brains behind our Weekly Rite Aid and Walgreens Scenarios.  She has been a wonderful addition to the ‘I am THAT lady’ team, she is very knowledgeable of both Walgreens and Rite Aid’s programs, knowing the ins and outs of both stores.  Here is a bio that I asked her to put together for you, so you can know a little bit about her story.

I am very excited for this opportunity to share and give back to the IamThatLady readers.  I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself, my name is Charla Roth, and I am 31 years old.  My husband and I are the proud parents of two beautiful children, my daughter who is 3 , and my son who is 8 months old.  We currently reside in my hometown of Baldwinsville, NY.  I graduated from SUNY Oswego with a Masters in Accounting in 2003 and obtained my license as a Certified Public Accountant.  I have worked full time for a local public accounting firm in Syracuse, NY as an Audit Manager since graduation.

I have always been a casual couponer and thought I did pretty well saving a few bucks here and there on my grocery bill each week.  I have to admit that I was the kind of couponer that went to the store and forgot her coupons on a regular basis!  In April 2011 I was 8 months pregnant with my son and sat down to watch the premier of the Extreme Couponing.  I looked at my husband and said “I can do this”!  Later that night I posted the same comment on Facebook and a friend replied “have you checked out IamTHATlady”, I responded, “what is THAT?”!  At that time I was about to go out on an unpaid maternity leave and my husband’s teaching position was just eliminated.  We were wondering how we would make it work if I wanted to stay home on an extended maternity leave.  Couponing was my answer!   I immediately watched all of her beginner’s video tutorials and was convinced this was for me!  By cutting my grocery and diaper bill in half within the first few weeks, I was able to stay home and enjoy my time rather than feel stressed about cash flow.

Couponing has become the ONLY way to live!  Despite a hectic work and family schedule, my husband and I make couponing one of those priorities in our lives.  We all work very hard for our money and I often find myself teary eyed thinking about all of the money I wasted paying regular price and not using coupons all of those years.

I hope that my weekly contributions to this site will be another way I can give back to Lauren and all that she has given to us!

@LM, thanks so much for that! Please give me feedback throughout the weeks. I am always wondering if they are too complex. I know it seems like a lot of transactions but I am trying to keep your OOP as low as possible!

Congrats on doing something you love. I just wanted to say Hello ! I was trying to find more local blogs to read and came across IATL. You are not local for me but my in-laws live in Baldwinsville, NY so I will pass the blog onto them. My ex mother in law and I are still friends and talk about once a week, she is looking for ways to survive on a 1 person paycheck and this blog will do it for her, no doubt. Thank you for having the patience to sit and figure out the sales, I must admit I cheat and use facebook & blogs to get the deals. I have taught some classes on couponing and have been asked to start a blog, maybe one day. I work nights full time and it is harder for me to do alot of internet stuff except at work and limited to what sites I can go on. Hopefully 1 day I will get there. Anyways thanks for all you ladies do!

      Thanks for the comment.
