I went out to Kmart this evening with my kids to get the great Kmart Ziploc Deal that is running this week.

I was able to get 8 boxes of Ziploc Bags, 2 Clearance Sets of Boys PJ’s and a Girls Skirt/Shirt Set and only spend $9.66!  Both the $5 and $2 Catalina’s worked for me, so I know it is working in my area.

Here is how I did it:

Transaction #1:

Bought (4) Ziploc 2/$5

• Used (2) $1.00/2 from 3/4 SS
• Or you can use (2) $0.60/1 Ziploc printable (watch short video on Coupon Network – you should be able to check and print both the $0.60/1 AND the $0.70/1 at the same time)
• and (2) $0.70/1 Ziploc Printable
• Final Price= $8.20 OOP PLUS got 2 catalinas back (one $5.00 and one $2.00)

Transaction #2:

Bought (4) Ziploc @ 2/$5

• Used (2) $1.00/2 from 3/4 SS
• Paid with $7 in Catalinas from Previous Transaction
• Final price = $1.20 OOP
• I earn another $5 and $2 Catalina coupon

I used those $7 in Catalinas to pay for the three clothing items which were on clearance for $2.99!

You may have already heard this news but Sears and Kmart have announced that they are shutting down 80-120 of their stores in 2012, this is in part due to poor sales.  The dates when these stores are closing have no yet been announced, so I will keep you updated if I find anything out.

Is your Kmart on the list?  If so, how will this affect your shopping?

Kmart is doubling coupons on Friday 12/16  up to $2! ($2 coupon = $4 off!).  I cannot find a list of what stores are participating, and most likely if you call your store they will have no idea (or act like they do and give you false information).  In order to see if your store is doubling I would recommend trying it out.

Rule for Kmart $2 coupon doubling:

• Kmart will double up to $2 manufacturer’s coupons! $2 coupon = $4 off.
• Limit 5 coupons per day
• Only 1 coupon will be doubled per item.
• You must scan your shop your way rewards card to get your coupons doubled
• You must have a minimum of $25 in groceries and pharmacy items before coupons are scanned in order for them to be doubled.
• At Kmart, if an item is $3, and you have a $2 off coupon, it will take off $3, not $4. Kmart won’t give you overage.

I am ALMOST tempted to head over to Kmart this week for the Doubling event, they are doubling up to $0.99 all week long. Make sure that you watch your cashier carefully, when Kmart runs doubling the register will ask them to choose the item that the coupon is for, if they choose the wrong item it may not double to the full amount.
