Challenge Accepted – Throwing a Christmas party for under $100!
Posted at 8:43 PM by I am THAT Lady: Lauren
I guess that many of you have thrown Christmas parties in the past and know how expensive they can be. Aldi challenged me to throw a Christmas party this year for $100 or less and I accepted. The mom’s group that I am a part of was holding our annual Christmas party and cookie swap, so I thought this would be the perfect time and I offered to provide all the food for over 20 women for under $100….Do you think I accomplished it?
Well….we did it…almost….$116.00 was spent so we were only $16.00 over budget.
We had a wonderful spread of dips, gourmet crackers, salsa, hummus, veggie platters, and more! And every single thing at this party was from Aldi!
If you are still looking for ideas on how to throw your holiday party this year – you should definitely check out Aldi’s holiday guide this year for inspiration on what foods to serve for your party! They have so many great ideas and recipes!
What are your favorite holiday treats from Aldi?
Disclosure: I am an Aldi Super fan and was given a $100 Gift certificate to buy the food for this event, all opinions are 100% my own!

Do you have a detailed list of what was purchased??? I would love to do the same. Thxs!
Janette, you can see most of it in the picture but they have gourmet cheese balls and a great selection of crackers. There was a fruit and veggie platter that was put together with fresh hummus. Chips and Salsa, Mini hot dogs wrapped in puff pastry, punch, pies and more!
Gotta love Aldi! Great job it all looks yummy!
I did my sister-in-laws baby shower for 25 for $130 from Aldi!
awesome – you really can get a lot for your money there!
I could put together the shopping list if you want Lauren. We also did a 7 layer bean dip and flat-bread pizza squares as well. Aldi now sells Kcups so we had Kcup coffee and creamer too… so we didn’t have to keep making coffee, it was great that people could go up as they wanted and get a fresh cup. We got our cups, cups, plates, silverware, and napkins from there as well. I couldn’t believe the selection of cheeses! We decided to ditch the normal and we got Havarti cheese, goat cheese with cranberry and a cheese ball with herbs. mmmm! So good
Thanks Jenna – that would be great! I am planning on getting the goat cheese with cranberry for our Christmas dinner!
The cranberry goat cheese is my absolute fav!!!! I like to make a spread of crackers and soft cheeses from Aldi, add some grapes and it’s a party-pleaser!
Aldi’s chicken salad with cranberries and almonds is so delicious! It is restaurant quality. I serve it with crackers for an easy/yummy appetizer.
