I found that I could not use the a catalina towards 2nd purchase that is suppose to generate a new catalina on similiar products. Save them to use the following week or another purchase that is not central market deal.

Jill, where did you find that out? We have always been able to use the Catalina to pay for the next one.

I did this deal last night and was able to roll my catalinas because the catalina printed out before I even paid. That means my payment method had no effect on whether or not it printed, and I could use the one from the first transaction to pay for the next and so on.

Could someone please explain to me how is it that if you buy 5 items, get the $5 catalina and the the stuff for free?

Theoretically, if you could find an item that is priced under $1 you will get it for free. None of the listed items would actually be free.

Actually, you will get some of the items for free, because it all depends on how you consider it. Think of it this way: If you buy 5 cans of mandarin oranges @ $1.19 a can and pay $5.95 then get a $5.00 catalina back, essentially you paid $.95 for 5 cans. That could be considered $0.19 per can, or it could be 4 free cans and only $.95 for the 5th can. You can use the same math on the other items to figure out how many you would get for free with the catalina :)

    Hey Lauren,
Am very happy to have found your site yesterday. Been couponing for 4 months or so and love Price Chopper and your the first site I have found that has suggestions for them. I used this Central Market catalina deal (which is awesome, thank you) 3 times since I read this and Heather is correct the catalina pops before payment and I have rolled them twice already.
I stopped at customer service and got the checkout rewards flyer to see what other catalina’s were going on and did not see this deal in the list which makes me curious as to if there are more deals like this going on? (Someone mentioned the website for the company that is behind the catalinas and I checked there but could not find a list (since have forgotton the name of it) Thanks Again!

Dana, this one was listed in the Weekly flyer this week. Many times the ones that are special for that week are not included in the monthly book. Welcome, I am glad you are here!

So I went to price chopper tonight got 3 chunk chicken and 2 8oz panko.. Made sure the green light was on and a catalina didnt print… What should I do? Are the central market deals for only certain items at certain stores?

They are on all Central Market products, you should take them to customer service to get your money back then try again. It was their mistake if all your products were Central Market

I went today and they had restocked the oranges. Good thing because I did this transaction twice and now have credit for next week’s holiday purchases. :)
