Price Chopper: Unilever Catalina Deal Scenarios

Posted at 10:54 AM on Mar 27, 2011 by I am THAT Lady: Lauren

Mar 27th, 2011

I had some major help this week from my girls over at the WeUseCoupons Price Chopper Forum coming up with these deal scenarios, thanks girls!!.  Make sure you check out the rest of this weeks Price Chopper Weekly Coupon matchups.

Remember that the Catalina is based on the PRE-SALE price of the items. If your Catalina coupons do not print off and you purchased the correct items, it is not the stores fault and you should contact the Catalina company directly.  You can read more about what Catalina’s are and how to use them on my 4 ways to get Catalina’s post.

I may or may not get to the store this week to test out these deal scenarios to make sure they are working, so please report back after you have done one or more of these transactions so we can see the success of them at the register!  Please feel free to share your own scenarios in the comments below.  I will be adding more throughout the week, but here are a few to help get you started!

Also note that prices vary per Price Chopper store, so make sure you are comparing the presale prices to mine below to make sure you get up to your $20.

the mayo is on sale for 2.99, so it wouldn’t be 4.29!

The 1/2 off Wishbone dressing sale is only on certain flavors (blue cheese, Italian and fat free Italian). The $.75 off coupon is only good on the new flavors (Bruschetta, Greek, etc.) and may not work. At the Clay store they scrutinize every coupon so I can see them rejecting this one.

it depends on your stores price on the Axe, they vary. Some stores have $10
back and some stores have $7 back.

I did deals #1, 3 & 4 this morning in my Saugerties, NY store. (Used my Ragu coupons already, so I couldn’t do 2). Deal #1 threw me off since buying 4 axe and using 2 B1G1F coupons still makes you pay for 2 (=$8 oop). Overall for all 3 deals, I spent $11.94 oop and got over $85 worth of stuff!

I just did the deal at the Poughkeepsie store:
    1 Hellmans Mayo 2.99
    1 Dove Bodywash 4.99
    2 Skippy PB $2 each
    2 Q tips 2/$5
    2 degree deoderants 2/$4

I wasn’t sure what the non sale prices were to do the deal at the time, so I probably could have gotten away with less but didn’t mind getting a bit more!

    Used:
1 Price Chopper Dove facebook coupon – $1
1 Price Chopper Hellmans coupon -$1
    $1 off Dove bodywash coupon
doubled 50 cents off 2 qtips coupon (not sure where i got this one, i think it was from the qtips box)
2 Free skippy coupons, from the Unilever folks to replace the jars that were recalled
doubled 2, 50 cents off Degree deoderant

Our store had a $10 catalina back, even though the signage all said $7. It was $10 in the ad, so I was happy it did, indeed print out the $10.

I ended up spending $11 to get $10 back. Awesome. Thanks for your site!

in the allyou magazine there is a coupon if you by hellamms mayonnaise and Vlasic pickle , pepper, or relish you get a 1.00 and i have a printabe coupon for 55 cents off the vlasice pickles, peppers, or relish. i think that maybe a target one but it is a manurfacturer’s one. so i would be like getting free pickles too with all the great hellmanns deal this week.

I have used them there before, but they just got a new customer service
manager a month ago, so her policies may be different. I know that others
have used them before. I am going to try tomorrow morning, I will let you
      know!

Ok, I did deal #1 tonight, I added a pack of dog treats to it that were on clearance for 1.29. I also used a 1.00 mfg for the Helmans mayo stacked with the price chopper one. My total came to $12.20! I was so confused at the store, and didnt understand what happened since I was copycat shopping, and expected a five dollar and change total. But everything made sense when I had the cashier go through it. I got my 7.00 cat. So, I guess I paid 5.20 for all of it which isn’t bad, just expected it to be less. Just wanted to share.

    here was my deal
    1 hellmans mayo
    2 axe
    1-6 pack dove bars
    1 vlasic pickles
after coupons and all i only paid 10.00 and got a 10.00 coupone back

    then i got
    1 price chopper butter
    3 rice a ronie
    3 maxwell coffees
    2 orville redenbachers popcorn
    2 resse candy bar
    come to .21cents
I would have had 86cents comeing back but the cashier did not know how to do that and could not get it to work so i add the candy bar.
so I got all the stuff above for 10.21. i say that was a great deal..

Lauren – Can you tell me how Deal Scenario #1 comes to $5.98 OOP? If I buy 4 Axe Body spray’s at $4 each with 2 free, that’s $8 OOP. Hellman’s Mayo will be $1.99 and the Dove soap is $1.99 after all coupons. That totals $11.98 – not $5.98. I must be missing something…..what is it?
