I have been very frustrated with the stores in my area (Price Chopper and Walmart Super Center both in Fulton, NY). For the past 2 Sundays I bought multiple papers and every single one that I got, they had NO coupons! I have called and complained because the coupons are the only reason I buy newspapers, and someone is obviously stealing the coupon inserts. They just ask if I want to return the papers, but I am too honest and say I can’t because I kept the Price Chopper store ad both weeks, so I feel I shouldn’t return them. Its just so frustrating! Is there anything else I can do?! I would hate to stand there and pick through the papers every week, because then I would feel like people would look at me thinking that I am stealing, now that they know someone is… I am so sorry to “rant”, but I would really like to know if you have had this situation happen before, and what you did.
I’m sorry for your frustration! I can totally relate. This past Sunday there were no coupons in the Sunday paper because it is right before the Holiday. As far as looking through the papers, I 100% think that you should. I always look through my papers because as someone who is purchasing them, I have a right to know if I am getting what I am expecting. If you feel like you are going to be looking like you are stealing, bring them to the cashier and look through them right there….that way they know why you are looking through them. Hopefully next week you will have better luck!
Another idea you could try is calling the Post Standard and explain what happened. Tell them that the store would give you the money back but the coupons were what you wanted and after Sunday are no longer available. They have sent me out coupons in the past because I haven’t received them in my Sunday paper. It doesn’t hurt to give them a call and ask…Good luck!!
Not positive but next weekend is the holiday…..I was told there will be no coupons.
Oh thanks! I didn’t think anything of the upcoming holiday and no coupons! (Duh!) Thanks so much for the suggestion of checking them in front of the cashier, I’m going to do that from now on!
I’m curious about the Nabisco Snack Crackers – $2.00 if I’m paying for 2 so I can get the third one free can’t I also use the $1/2 for the 2 I paid for? That would make them 3 for $3 =)
I thought I heard the P&G will be in this Sunday’s paper?
