Hi Brenda, you could serve it with whatever you’d like. For the Aldi slow cooker meal plan, I had suggested baked potato and green beans as a side.

Just to let you know, you don’t want to rinse a chicken. It actually causes more germs to be strewn around your kitchen. The recipe sounds good!

Actually, pour boiling water over the chicken. Start with the cavity and then the skin side in a large bowl. Leave to soak for 2 minutes or so. Rinse with cold water so chicken is easier to handle, then remove all remaining tissue from the cavity…..the boiling water makes these congeal, so removal is much easier.

Then you have a clean chicken, and the resulting soup etc. has muck less scum to clean.

How long will your meal plan last for one person that eats 5 times a day at a max. of 500 calories each meal? Please respond. I’m so sick of eating the same old meals for my workout diet. Yuck!

How do you get the chicken to not fall apart? Tastes wonderful and super tender but fell apart!:(

Shelly – most meats that are made in the crockpot fall apart due to the length of cooking time. We have a recipe coming up soon for a roasted chicken, which is made in the oven and does not fall apart.

This is delicious! My 1 and 3 year old boys love it as well. They especially love the cooked carrots, even though they normally hate carrots. So I will definitely add more carrots next time. Thanks so much for the recipe!

Does this come out more like a boiled chicken or like a roasted chicken? How much does it fall apart…shredded chicken or big pieces? Thanks!
