Here is one of our favorite week night recipe for using up a roasting chicken. This is a super easy way to make dinner in just 5 minutes and have it ready for you when you either get home from work, or when it’s time for dinner.
This meals should cost you around $6.00 or less – so a very inexpensive meal too!
- 1 whole chicken
- 2 medium carrots
- 2 medium celery stalks
- 1 medium sized onion
- 1 Tbsp Kosher salt
- 1 tsp Pepper
- 1 tsp Sage
- 1 Tbsp Thyme
- Rinse the chicken and remove giblets.
- Mix salt, pepper, sage and thyme and rub all over the chicken.
- Chop all the vegetables
- Place the chicken in the slow-cooker with vegetables, and pour in enough water to fill the bottom of the slow-cooker to about an inch.
- Cook for 6 hours.
